The Stannah Sofia is one of two models that make up Hudson Accessibility's premier stairlift line (our other premier lift is the Stannah Solus). Combining state-of-the-art safety technology with modern styling, the Stannah Sofia offers more luxury features then most stairlift models. A new, ergonomically-designed high seat back provides improved support, and the Sofia's sleek lines make it one of the most modern-looking stairlifts in the industry.

The Stannah Sofia's premium stairlifts features include:

• A sturdy and reliable anodized track is standard on the Sofia, offering a more attractive look then the aluminum tracks utilized by our value stairlift unit. The track is powder-coated to resist scratching, has no exposed rivets or bolts and is enclosed to avoid trapping of dirt, dust and pet hair.
• A super-quiet ride begins and ends smoothly and gently, and the entire journey is easily controlled with a simple armrest toggle switch.
• Conveniently-located swivel handles allow riders to easily get on and off the chair. Once you have reached your destination, simply lift the swivel lever on the side of the unit, and turn the chair to exit.
• An optional power swivel seat allows the chair to turn in one or two directions at the touch of a button, improving chair accessibility and rider safety.
• Removable side link bars are fitted standard on Sofia stairlifts, allowing for easy transfer to wheelchairs.
• Long, adjustable armrests help riders support themselves when standing up or sitting down.
• A maximum rider weight capacity of 300 lbs.

The Stannah Sofia offers a new, hi-end fabric line of of super-soft woven fabrics and durable vinyl upholstery in 6 color options. These fabrics have been combined with a new, ergonomically designed chair to improve comfort. Adjustable armrests and a wide, comfortable seat are standard on the Sofia, providing riders the highest level of comfort and the most luxury features.

All Stannah straight stairlifts come with a premium rail system. Besides offering an attractive look and dependable construction, these rails offer the option for a hinged track. Should your staircase end in a doorway or passageway, a hinged rail will allow the track to fold up, over the staircase, clearing the way for others. As you near the end of the staircase a light will flash and the unit will beep, alerting others than the track is about to unfold. The track will then automatically fold down, with no effort required, allowing the chair to reach its final destination. After the rider is safely off the stairlift, the chair should be sent a short distance up the track using the remote control. This will cause the hinged track section to fold back up, clearing the way for others.

Like all Hudson Accessibility stairlift models, the Stannah Sofia utilizes DC powered, maintenance free, sealed lead acid batteries. Hidden charging units plug into a standard 110V AC outlet, and continually charge the unit's batteries, ensuring that your stairlift will operate for several cycles, even during power outages.
